The filing deadline set forth in the Camp Lejeune Justice Act (CLJA) has passed.  For that reason, the Department of the Navy is no longer accepting new CLJA claims.  If you filed your CLJA claim by the August 10, 2024 filing deadline, then please log in to access your claim.  If you are not able to access the Claims Management Portal, or if your CLJA claim is not accessible in the Claims Management Portal, then please contact the Camp Lejeune Claims Unit at CLClaims@us.navy.mil or (757) 241-6020.

For more information regarding the CLJA filing deadline and answers to other frequently asked questions, please visit the Department of the Navy’s official CLJA website at www.navy.mil/clja.

Public Information

Information presented on the Department of the Navy, Office of the Judge Advocate General website is considered public information and may be distributed or copied. Use of appropriate byline / photo / image credits is requested.

Site Management

For site management, information is collected from raw data logs for statistical purposes. This government computer system uses software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.

Site Security and Monitoring

For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this government computer system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information or otherwise cause damage. In addition your IP address is appended to any message that you submit using one of our online forms.

E-mail and Online Form Generated Messages

We will not obtain personally identifying information about you when you visit our site unless you choose to provide such information to us.

Law Enforcement

Data collected for any of the above purposes may also be used for authorized law enforcement investigations.

Criminal Penalties

Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.

Identification of Users

Except as described in the above paragraphs, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Users wishing to create and account and file a CLJA claim will be required to register and provide only the information we deem necessary to complete that task.

Cookies

Like many government and commercial websites, jag.navy.mil uses "persistent cookie" technology. A persistent cookie is a small text file that this website places on your web browser so that it can gather anonymous summary demographic information, and remember your browser when it is used to visit our site again later.

These cookies uniquely identify a browser on a computer, but never a person. In other words, if the same person uses Chrome and Internet Explorer, two unique browser cookies will be assigned, one for each browser, so that person will be counted as two different visitors because visits are based on browsers, not computers or persons.

  • We use persistent cookies in two ways, both of which enhance your experience on jag.navy.mil while also protecting your privacy
  • To get aggregate metrics on site usage to understand how people are using the site and how we can make it better. We use web metrics services to track activity on jag.navy.mil. Government agencies only ever receive traffic statistics anonymously and in the aggregate
To gather anonymous summary demographic information about our visitors such as gender, age range, and areas of interest for adults over the age of 18. We do this by using Google Demographic and Interests reports. When you visit a website that has partnered with the Google Display Network, Google stores a number in your browser using a persistent cookie to remember your visits. This number uniquely identifies a web browser, not a specific person. Browsers may be associated with a demographic category, such as gender or age range, based on the sites that were visited. This demographic information is used to help us better understand our visitors' interests and needs to more effectively develop content to serve you.

Most Internet browsers automatically accept persistent cookies. Although using persistent cookies creates a much better experience for you, this site will also work without them. If you don't want to accept cookies, you can edit your browser's options to stop accepting persistent cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. Here's how you can disable cookies and/or Google Demographic and Interests reports.

Registration and log in

You are always welcome to use this website without registering or logging in for certain services such as general content browsing. The areas of this website that allow users to create and account and file a CLJA claim will require an email address, password, and additional methods for identification.

Password protection

When you register for an account to file a CLJA claim, access to your personal information will be protected by multifactor authentication, which includes an email address, a password, and at least one other authentication factor such as a cellular phone that can receive security codes via text message. We strongly recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone and that you change it on a regular basis, and that you do not share the device used for your additional authentication factor.

Saving of passwords by browser

Many Internet browsers allow users to save user information, including passwords. When prompted by a browser to save your authentication credentials such as your email address and password for access to this website, you should decline this option to secure your authentication credentials. Saving this information could potentially allow persons who gain access to a shared workstation to access your personal information, although you are protected to some extent in this case by the requirement for multifactor authentication before accessing your personal information.

Logging out

Please remember to log out when you are finished using the CLCU claims management system. Logging out prevents someone else from accessing your personal information if you leave, share, or use a public computer (located, for example, in a library or an Internet cafe) and your session hasn’t automatically “timed out” or shut down. You should remember to log out. If you forget to log out or 60 minutes of non-activity pass, the session will time out.

Information sharing

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise provide your personal information to outside marketers. Information collected by the CLCU may be shared with employees, contractors, and other service providers as necessary to process your claim, provide a service, or as otherwise authorized by law.
